Spirit Alive! Lutheran Church is proud to be a Reconciling in Christ (RIC) congregation! We are committed to sharing widely God's inclusive, expansive love for all people.
We officially become an RIC congregation in 2017, joining the movement to combat homophobia, transphobia, heterosexism, racism, ableism, classism - and all other forms of oppression that seek to separate us from each other. We believe God has made us all in God's own image and all people are truly, deeply loved.
We celebrate the great diversity of God's creation, for it is truly good. Our LGBTQ+ siblings are embraced as integral parts of our church community.
In faithfulness to the Gospel of Jesus Christ, mindful of our Lutheran emphasis on grace, and rejoicing in God’s unconditional love, we embrace people of all races, genders, sexual orientations, ages, physical or mental abilities, financial resources, family structures, and religious backgrounds. We believe all are made in God’s image and we cannot be the church God is calling us to be without each of our unique experiences and gifts.
Therefore, rejoicing in God’s abundant grace, you belong.
As a community of faith, we strive to be brave in our witness to the Gospel. We commit to building relationships rooted in inclusive, authentic love. We commit to working for racial equity and justice for all our neighbors. We commit to building a community where all can be their most authentic selves. We believe by the power of the Holy Spirit we can work together to usher in God’s reign of justice, peace, and mercy. In Christ’s love, welcome!
