Do you like cooking? Movies? Singing? Talking? Well, then Small Groups at Spirit Alive are for you!

Small Groups at Spirit Alive are a way for us to get more personal about our faith, our questions, our skepticism, our doubts and our fears. In our over individualized society it is easy for us to think faith can be done on our own and by our selves like so many other things in our culture. However, if there is one thing we know about God, faith, and spirituality it is happens with other people, always in community.

So we recommend that everyone gets connected through a small group. They are not permanent, so you are not joining something for a lifetime. Each small group runs for about 4 months and then ends. You are welcome to stay in that group, maybe try out another, or simply take a break if it happens to be a busy season for you.

To the right is a list of the small groups that are happening right now. Ministry teams are considered to be "small groups" as well and can be excellent ways to get connected.  There are a few listed here that are ongoing.  If you have ANY questions about ministry teams and small groups (location, time, etc) simply click here to be directed to our CONTACT US page and drop us a note. We’ll get back to you right away!

A big part of our walk with God is caring for each other.  The Care Team visits members in their homes, the hospital and wherever they need us to offer spiritual support, prayer and communion.  Are you interested in learning how to care for others in a Christian Community in this way? Maybe God is calling you to this ministry but you don't know how to start.  Join US!  Your care team members are ... Donna and Carl Johnson, Mike Seymour, Donna Johnson, Joan Hisel, Marge Gentner, Karen Thomas, Mike Crabb and Dave Jordan. For all spiritual care requests please call Donna Johnson at 262.605.4830 or the church office at 262.658.2433 or

1st Impressions

We know that first impressions are important and Spirit Alive wants to welcome ALL people and let nothing get in the way of that. Everything from Greeters to Ushers to Information Table to following up with guests...this team is a BIG part of welcoming God's people on Sunday morning. There are many tasks to be accomplished, but even if you simply want to be a friendly face and a welcoming smile, then let us know and join the 1st Impressions effort!

Do you like to plan parties, fundraisers, service projects and potlucks or prefer behind-the-scenes things such as planning and set-up?  Then this is the ministry for you!  As the Spirit Alive Events Team, we plan the FUN!  In the past we've planned the Fall Kick-Off Tail Gate Party, Operation Christmas Child, Adult Game Night and Camp Spirit.  Some of the upcoming events being planned are: Independence Day Parade Float, Rally Sunday Picnic and Kenosha Kingfish Outing.  If you are interested in sharing new ideas and planning the community FUN for Spirit Alive, contact

I CAN’T QUILT (yes you can)

How does this work?  Basically, a lap size quilt is made with the ties left untied. Before church, after communion or between services, everyone is invited to tie one of the ties and say a prayer for the person the quilt will be given to.  We encourage ANYONE to make a quilt--we can supply patterns and coaching to help you.  If there is someone you feel would benefit from a prayer quilt or shawl, please contact Corlis Hachey at or any member of the ministry team.  One of the most important things we want to stress is that this is not about the quilts/shawls, it’s about the prayers.  These will not be award winning quilts/shawls.  We hope they will be God winning quilts/shawls.

Fab 50 Fellowship (FFF)

Fabulous 50 Fellowship meets the 2nd Thursday of every month at 6:00 p.m. at various restaurants.  All over the age of 50 are welcome to join us.  Make reservations with Corlis Hachey

Wine 'N Women

A small group for women ONLY to gather for an evening of conversation about family, work, community issues and concerns or just about whatever a woman may need to get off her chest and bounce off other women of faith. Of course, there will be wine to sip, if desired.  We meet once per month on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 7:00 p.m. at the home of Roxann Crabb.  Currently there are 6-8 women who attend but plenty of room for more. Please contact Roxann at 262-412-0587 or with any questions.

Breaking Through Fear "The Beginning"

A book study.  Life is a journey, and along the way we have bumps in the road. These bumps are sometimes things we fear. In this small group we will examine our fears, and how we can begin to overcome them through faith. We will be a nurturing, safe, and supportive group as we discuss, face and overcome our fears head on. Imagine your life, wholly untouched by angst. What if faith, not fear, was your default reaction to threats? If you could hover a fear magnet over your heart and extract every last shaving of dread, insecurity, or doubt, what would remain? Envision the day when you can trust more and fear less.

This group will meet twice monthly. The first meeting will be on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. The remainder of our meeting schedule, dates and times, will be discussed ar our first meeting and decided by the group.

Small group sessions will consist of no more than two chapters of reading from the book "Fearless" for each meeting. Everyone should read the two assigned chapters and come prepared to discuss the questions for each chapter found at the back of the book.
